A new series coming soon (Exclusive post)

Character inspiration. Photo by: Kilted Yogis page

Hi friends! I hope you are making out okay during this "stay at home" phase of the pandemic. I've been thinking of all the people affected. My heart goes out to any/all that come down with the illness, especially the bairns. It's funny how our lives have changed in the course of a few weeks. We shall persevere and get through this. At least, that is my great hope.

I wanted to share with you news about my upcoming new series - LORDS OF THE NORTH. It's a Scottish Historical set in the late 1300's, early 1400's. Books will be coming out sometime in 2020. Here's a preliminary series blurb:

In the most northern lands of Scotland, clan rivalries are more of a concern than the king's politics. That is until family discord threatens to tear apart the fierce clans of Sinclair, Sutherland, Mackay, and Mackenzie. Clansmen murder to ensure the prosperity of their clan. Lairds must marry to make alliances to protect their clans from rivals. Family members hide their deceit, care, and secrets − all of which force the Highland Lairds to accept overwhelming situations. Family dysfunction has never been this difficult. Will love bring these handsome Highlanders peace or will it put them in further peril?

The books in this series are:

The Seduction of Laird Sinclair - HERO Callum Sinclair HEROINE Violet Danvers
Seven Lasses & A Laird - HERO Keith Sutherland HEROINE Marren Mackenzie
Making Her A Mackay - HERO Grady Mackay HEROINE Mia Malone
The Warrior & The Waif - HERO Kieran Mackenzie HEROINE Trulee (no surname)

I cannot wait to show you the lovely book covers and share the premise of the stories. These stories will have you rooting for our heroes and sighing at the situations the heroines find themselves in. I will be sharing more as I get closer to publication. Be sure to keep an eye out.

Happy Historical Reading,
Kara Griffin

Need an escape?

Hi friends! Hope you're all well. I'm praying for us all  I'm in my writing cave working hard on a new series - Lairds of the North  I'm inspired and my muse is sitting six feet from me I wanted to share... As a reader, books are my escape so I wanted to do something to help other readers. Even if we retreat from the world for an hour, two, or twenty, reading makes us happy. I hope my books bring happiness.

What's a wee bit of Dysfunction?

Families haven't changed since the beginning of time. There's been dysfunction throughout history in all levels of families -- from the poor to the wealthy, from the prominent to the less educated.

In writing medieval stories, I've come to appreciate these dysfunctions. In clans, there's the chief, the begotten children, wives, servants, soldiers, crofters, and of course rivals. They must all follow the commands of their betters which sometimes leads to some sort of dysfunction.

In my new Medieval Scottish Romance, THE LORDS OF THE NORTH, I have given you a glimpse into the dysfunction of the Sinclair, Sutherland, Mackay, and Mackenzie clans. These sons must adhere to their laird's will regardless of their want. Coupled with having to do their duty, they must also see to the welfare of all those around them. But what to do when these beloved ones turn against you? Murder, Chaos, Intrigue, and Love all play a part of the dysfunction. To defeat this crippling dysfunction, these lairds must overcome their heartbreak and turmoil.

Join me as we visit Callum Sinclair (The Seduction of Laird Sinclair), Keith Sutherland (Seven Lasses & A Laird), Grady Mackay (Making Her A Mackay), and Kieran Mackenzie (TBA)

Fondly,
Kara Griffin

Lass' Valor Revamp - NEW COVER

Announcing a brand new cover for Lass' Valor! This series was my first and I have revised all the covers. Both Warrior's Pledge and Claimed By A Charmer have been extensively edited. Lass' Valor will soon be edited and uploaded to all sites. Stay tuned.

This series is special to me because it was my first foray into publishing. The characters and setting is my absolute favorite. I hope readers enjoy a revisit or perhaps taking a chance on these beloved oldies.

But isn't this cover gorgeous? Love it.
